I am writing to you as I am concerned that the new nature laws as they stand fail to protect nature.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a bold stance and secure a future for nature.

I urge you to ensure the new laws are robust, prevent extinctions, support healthy communities, protect jobs and make sure the places we love and all call home are healthy and thriving.

Please don’t compromise on nature.

I call on you to:

Remove the discretionary powers that undermine the new rules that protect nature.

Guarantee independent, federal decision-making through a national EPA.

Protect the bush by closing loopholes that enable forest destruction.

Stop climate harm and ensure coal and gas is not fast-tracked.

Ensure public scrutiny and First Nations engagement.

Your government’s second term is your chance to deliver strong laws for people and nature that all Australians can be proud of.

We’re counting on you to do everything in your power to make sure people and nature can thrive. We can get this right.
