The North Atlantic right whale is one of the most endangered marine species in the world. Entanglement in fishing gear and collisions with ships are pushing the species towards extinction. This summer, there have already been eight confirmed North Atlantic right whale deaths in Canadian waters. The right whale species is facing a dangerous tipping point and needs immediate protection.
As a response to the recent deaths, the Government of Canada announced enhanced management measures to protect right whales - but these measures are only temporary. We need to do more to save the whales in our waters.
Please join us in calling on the Canadian government to implement the following immediate actions.
