fight for stronger environment laws

We have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to overhaul Australia’s failed environmental protection laws and ensure our native wildlife survives and thrives into the future.

In his independent review of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act), Professor Graeme Samuel made it clear that if the federal government doesn’t act now, it is accepting the extinction of our most threatened plants, animals and ecosystems.

Disappointingly, the federal government has chosen to ignore Professor Samuel’s warnings and instead has proposed a bill that is likely to further weaken environmental protections.

You can help protect the places we call home and end Australia’s extinction crisis by emailing your federal member of parliament with your concerns about the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Amendment (Standards and Assurance) Bill 2021.

send a message to your federal member of parliament asking them to act now!
